This website is operated by Acravet. Throughout the site, the terms “we”, “us” and “our” refer to Acravet. At Acravet we understand that our customers are concerned about the security of their debit and credit card details. We take significant steps to protect all your information, and especially your payment details, using the latest technology.

At Acravet, we want you to enjoy your shopping experience, secure in the knowledge that we have your security in mind.

All transactions are via the payment gateway Realex. All credit card information is held in secure mode, encrypted and protected behind a firewall in realex.

Acravet will never supply your personal details to any third party for any reason whatsoever. We understand that the details you supply us are only to allow purchasing to take place and we will protect that information and use it only for the purpose for which it was intended.

1. Who we are:

Acravet was founded in 1987 and is a fully licensed veterinary wholesaler & distributor.

The business provides full nationwide distribution services. There are 20 employees of which 5 are sales representatives who supply animal health products. Acravet Ltd. work with industry leading companies and brands.

It is our mission to provide veterinary practices and all other customers with products and services at afair and competitive price. Customer service is the main priority for the business along with the protection and security of our customer and supplier’s information.

We share your information within Acravet Ltd. to help us provide our services to you, comply with regulatory and legal requirements, and improve our range of products for you.

2. Data Protection Officer

Our Data Protection Officer monitor show we collect, use, share and protect your information to ensure that your rights are fulfilled. You can contact our Data Protection Officer at DPO@acravet.ie.

3. How we collect information about you:

We collect personal data from you,for example when you open a new account; make a payment; apply for products and services; use your credit or debit card; complete transactions; or look for advice. We also collect information through our website, social media,discussion forums, market research and our CCTV surveillance on site. Information may be taken from you over the phone and we will endeavour to protect this information, by complying with GDPR best practises.

Our website uses ‘cookie’ technology.This is a little piece of text that our server places on your device when you visit our website. This helps the site work more efficiently.

Two cookies are stored on the website:

  • The Google Analytics Cookie, this is used for tracking traffic and visitors on the site.
  • The second one is a cart session cookie which is used to control the shopping cart.

When you sign up with us to use our products and services, we may keep some of your details on file until your account becomes inactive with us. Once your account becomes inactive, we may retain certain details for up to 7 years dependant on our legal requirement.

We protect your information by implementing security measures required by the law and make sure that we are compliant withGDPR protocols. We keep our computers safe by having a regular password change and keeping your files as anonymous as possible. All paper files have restricted access within the company and are kept in a secure location.

To meet our legal requirements, we hold your information while you are a customer/supplier with us and for a period after, as directed by GDPR best practices.

When we share this information with any third parties, we also make anonymous of your details such as your name,number, email, etc. We don’t share information that could identify you as acustomer, such as your name and account details. We may ask you to fill out surveys or give a review on our products and services as well. Any information given to us during this process will be kept anonymous, so that no one can track your details back to you.

Accessing your personal information: You can ask us for a copy of your personal information that we hold. You can ask us about how we collect, share and use your information. We can also update and correct your personal details if they have changed since you first created account with us.It is important that you notify us when a detail on your account has changed as this will help our system valid. If we are not notified of a change in personal information, you might not receive adequate services, or you could see a delay in products been sent to you. Removing consent: You can change your mind in relation to the consent you have given us before, such as stopping direct marketing material coming into your email. Restricting and Objecting: You may have the right to restrictor object to us using your personal information or using automated decision making. This is where processing is automated, where it is carried out without human intervention, by our system. Deleting your information (your right to be forgotten): The right to be forgotten involves the removal of certain information that was publicly known before, e.g. on social media. The right to be forgotten also prohibits us from sharing certain information with third parties, after you have removed consent. However, we may keep certain information on file up to 7years after you have de-activated your account. We keep this information onfile due to legal reasons. Moving your information (your right to Portability):Where possible we can share a digital copy of your information directly with you or another organisation. When you contact us to ask about your information, we may ask you to identify yourself. This is to help protect your information. We generally do not charge you when you contact us to ask about your information.

If you have a complaint about the use of your personal information, please let a member of staff in the company or the company GDPR officer know, this giving the company the opportunity to put things right as quickly as possible.
